AASE at Your Service: Conference Host

Elizabeth Z. Stillman - Suffolk University

Elizabeth "Liz" Stillman is the 2025 Conference Host. Liz has invited us all to her home at Suffolk Law in Boston. In anticipation of our visits, she delights our inboxes each week with a fun Host-Post. The Annual Conference is AASE's flagship event and hosting it is no small undertaking. In her capacity as Conference Host, Liz coordinates the conference meals, events, vendor stations and activities, and she negotiates the hotel room blocks for conference lodging. The amount of hours (and emails) that our Host has devoted to making sure that all goes smoothly next week is unenviable. Boston-bred, Liz earned her bachelor's degree at Tufts University and her law degree at Northeastern. Liz is eager to welcome AASE to her city with big hugs and a warm smile.

Prior to serving as the Conference Host, Liz has served AASE in numerous capacities. She served as Secretary from 2022-2023. For years, Liz has served enthusiastically on the Assessment Committee, where she has gleefully taken on other tasks as assigned. Liz has been the humble recipient of multiple AASE awards including the Impact Award (2024) and the Spirit of ASP Award (2022).

With a long-time presence in ASP, Liz has a history of visible leadership in the field of academic support. Since 2021, she has been a regular contributor to the Law School Academic Support Blog. Her weekly musings on relatable topics offer valuable takeaways that we can use in service to our students. She led the New England Consortium of Academic Support Professionals as president, and continued in service as immediate past-president. She teaches in the accelerated and LL.M. program at Suffolk Law and she is the author of a casebook for use in LLM and foreign-trained lawyer programs in the U.S.

Fun fact about Liz: her middle initial is her middle name. When you see Liz next week, strike up a conversation about her name, her love for AASE, or all things Boston. You'll leave the city knowing that you've made a friend for life. And let all the Suffolk Law folks you encounter know what a valued gem they have!
