A Call for Participation in Discussion Groups

Discussion Groups are a new session format introduced by the Program Committee in 2016 to facilitate scholarly discussion and engagement. Discussion Groups do not feature formal presentations; rather, the objective is to facilitate a lively and engaging real-time discussion. Participants consist of a mix of the invitees identified in the original proposal along with additional individuals selected on the basis of this call for participation. There will be limited audience seating for those not selected in advance.

The selected Discussion Groups for the 2017 Annual Meeting are:

• The Central American Refugee Crisis: A Discussion of the Current Response and Evaluation of U.S. Legal Obligations under Domestic and International Law
• Community Development Law and Economic Justice: Why Law Matters
• The Future of Tax Administration and Enforcement
• Introducing Leadership Development into the Law School Curriculum
• Law School Curricula and Practice-Readiness: Perfect Partners or Strange Bedfellows?
• Salman v. United States and the Future of Insider Trading Law
• Student Assessment: Tips and Tricks from the Trenches
• Why [Transactional] Law Matters
