Noted academic support scholars are taking the lead in preparing law faculty and law students for the arrival of the NextGen bar exam. Professor Kari Milligan of Mitchell Hamline School of Law recently published NextGen Bar Success: A Student-Tested, Student-Approved Method for Completing Counseling Integrated Question Sets in the Wisconsin Law Review. In her article, Professor Milligan details a five-step method and related tips for completing Counseling Integrated Question Sets that was taught to 358 students at Mitchell Hamline during their first semester of law school in 2024. The goal was to test the method, solicit student feedback, and make responsive refinements. The article provides readers with the five-step method, an overview of student feedback, and the adjustments made to the method based on that feedback. Her article is a first to offer empirical data connected to teaching the NextGen exam. Add this to your must read list!
