Director of Bar Pass Programs at Widener University Delaware Law School

WIDENER UNIVERSITY DELAWARE LAW SCHOOL in Wilmington, Delaware seeks to hire a Director of Bar Pass Programs. This is a twelve-month per year administrative position that is evaluated annually.

The duties of the Director include working under the supervision of the Dean’s Office and with the faculty to: (1) help develop and implement programming for bar exam success for all students throughout their studies to maximize bar passage; (2) help develop and implement bar exam preparation programming for upper division students before graduation including the Bar Pass Success Skills and Substance 3L Course; (3) collect and analyze data regarding bar passage results (4) draft reports, as necessary; (5) engage in student counseling related to bar exam performance and strategies for success (6) assist students in the bar application process; (7) assist repeat bar examinees; (8) work closely with and under the supervision of the Academic Success Program Directors, to help implement academic success programming and courses (9) perform other duties as assigned. Given the nature of the position’s responsibilities and the composition of the student body, the Director will be required to work evening hours as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, and membership in a state bar with successful completion of a state bar examination and one year of academic success experience preferably in a law school setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have significant law school professional experience, preferably in the context of a law school bar director or academic success program, a record of strong academic performance in law school, and experience in teaching or instruction. Other preferred qualifications include: excellent project management skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to carry out responsibilities with a minimum of supervision, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong service commitment. Experience in the practice of law is also preferred.
